How to Link Your Shopify Store to Your Ship24 Account

Introduction


This article guides you through linking your Shopify store to Ship24, so your monthly order data can be retrieved automatically and processed for IOSS.


To prepare your monthly IOSS VAT declaration, Ship24 needs to retrieve your Shopify order data automatically. This ensures that all eligible orders are included and that your VAT manifest is accurate, complete, and compliant.


The connection is set up using a private Shopify app with read-only access. Ship24 can only read order data and cannot modify your store, orders, products, or settings in any way.


Once connected, your order data is securely collected each month, removing the need for manual exports and simplifying your IOSS VAT reporting.


Create the private app in Shopify


  1. Log in to your store at admin.shopify.com.
  2. On your Shopify dashboard, click Settings at the bottom left of the screen.



  1. Go to Apps and click Develop apps.



  1. Click Build apps in Dev Dashboard to open the Dev Dashboard for the store.


If the button does not appear, go to the Dev Dashboard directly.



  1. Confirm you are on the Dev Dashboard for the right store. Check the top-right corner for the target store name.


Each store has its own Dev Dashboard, so apps are managed separately per store.



  1. Once you have selected the right store, click Create app.



  1. Name the app SHIP24-IOSS VAT, then click Create.



  1. Allow the read_orders scope.





  1. Release the app.



  1. You can leave the version name and message blank. Click Release.



Install the app on your store


  1. Go to the Home page of the app and click Install app.



  1. Select the store you want to set up IOSS for.



  1. Click Install.



  1. After a successful installation, you will see a confirmation screen.



Connect the app to Ship24


  1. Go back to Dev Dashboard > your app > Settings. Copy and save the Client ID and Client Secret, as you will need them in the next steps.



Treat the Client Secret like a password. Store it somewhere secure and do not share it.


  1. In your Ship24 dashboard, go to the Shopify Stores section and click Connect your Shopify store.



  1. Enter your shop domain, along with the Client ID and Client Secret you saved in step 15.



Your Shopify store is now connected to Ship24.
