How to Join and Switch Between Organizations

Introduction

This article is for anyone who has been invited to someone else's Ship24 organization, or who belongs to more than one. It covers accepting or declining an invitation and moving between organizations.

Accept an invitation

When someone invites you, you receive an email telling you who invited you and to which organization.

Open the invitation email and click the link to join.
If you're new to Ship24, set a password for your login.
Click "Accept invitation".

You're signed in straight away and taken to the first part of the dashboard you have access to. What you can see depends on the access the organization gave you.

The link in the email works for 7 days. If it has expired, or the organization has sent you a newer one, ask them to resend the invitation.

You don't need a new account. Accept the invitation and you join with the email address and password you already use.

Your own organization stays exactly as it was. You now belong to both, and you can move between them at any time.

Decline an invitation

If you don't want to join, open the link in the invitation email and click "Decline". The person who invited you is told by email, and nothing changes on your own Ship24 account.

Switch between organizations

If you belong to more than one organization, you switch between them from the account menu in the top right of the dashboard.

Click the account menu in the top right.
Under Organization, click the organization you want. The one you're viewing now is marked.

If you only belong to one organization, the list doesn't appear and the menu looks the same as before.

When the menu is closed, it shows which organization you're in: the organization's icon if one has been set, otherwise initials.

When you switch:

You stay on the same page. If you're on the Shipment Dashboard, you land on the Shipment Dashboard of the other organization.
You stay signed in as yourself. There's no new password or sign-in.
Your access changes. Each organization decides what you can see, so the same page can look different, and some sidebar items may not be there at all.

Everything in the dashboard belongs to the organization you're viewing, with one exception: Manage Profile is always your own profile, whichever organization you're in.

If you switch to an organization that doesn't give you access to the page you were on, you see a screen saying so. That's expected, not an error. Pick another area from the sidebar, or ask that organization's owner or an admin for access.

Common questions

Can I leave an organization myself?

No. Ask the organization's owner or an admin to remove you. Your Ship24 login keeps working, along with any other organizations you belong to.

My invitation link doesn't work

It has probably expired, or been replaced by a newer invitation. Ask the person who invited you to resend it.

Where do I change my own name or password?

Under Manage Profile in the sidebar or the account menu. It's always your own profile, whichever organization you're viewing.
