Get Started with Ship24

Introduction

Welcome to Ship24, your all-in-one shipment tracking solution. Whether you are a small ecommerce business or a large logistics provider, Ship24 helps you track shipments across multiple couriers, keep customers informed, and automate your delivery workflow.

This guide walks you through the key steps to get started.

In this article

  1. Create your free account
  2. Choose the right plan
  3. Add your first shipment
  4. Integrate with the Tracking API
  5. Create your Branded Tracking Page
  6. Set up Delivery Notifications

Create your free account

Sign up for a free account on our website. No credit card is required, and you can start tracking shipments right away.

Once you are logged in, you land on your Shipment Dashboard, where everything starts.

Choose the right plan

Ship24 sells tracking as three separate products, and which one you want depends on whether you have developers.

  • All-in-one Tracking Solution if you want a tracking page and customer emails without building anything
  • Tracking API and Webhook if you want tracking inside your own system
  • Tracking API, per call for occasional one-off lookups

Each has a free tier you can stay on while you try things out. See Ship24 pricing and plans explained for every tier, what it includes, and the paid add-ons available on Pro.

The Tracking API plans and the All-in-one Tracking Solution plans cannot both be active on one account. Switching means cancelling the current plan first, which forfeits any remaining quota, so it is worth picking deliberately.

Add your first shipment

From the Shipment Dashboard you can add shipments one at a time, in bulk by pasting tracking numbers, or by importing a CSV file.

Once shipments are in, you can search and filter them and export the data.

The information you provide alongside the tracking number makes a real difference to the results you get back. See how to create a good shipment tracker before you add shipments in volume.

Integrate with the Tracking API

If you want tracking inside your own system, start with getting started with the Ship24 Tracking API, which covers generating your API key and choosing how to track.

From there:

Create your Branded Tracking Page

A Branded Tracking Page gives your customers a tracking page that looks like your store instead of a courier website. You can run several pages for different brands, markets or campaigns, and offer each in several languages.

Set up Delivery Notifications

Delivery Notifications email your customers as their order moves. You choose which delivery stages send an email, what each one says, and how it looks.

Send fewer, better emails. Out For Delivery, Delivered and Exception carry real news. Enabling every stage is the quickest way to get customers to mute you.

You are ready

With your account set up, shipments coming in, and your branding in place, you can give your customers better visibility with less work.

Two things worth reading next: understanding shipment delivery statuses so you know what each status means, and the Glossary for any Ship24 term you have not met before.
